A gambling debt can be a big burden. A man blamed gambling company Unibet for his terrible financial situation. In just one year he gambled for more than 2,2 million euros in casinos from Unibet. It developed in a gambling addiction that cost the man about 185.000 euros.
Case against Unibet
The compulsive gambler got into therapy to fight against his addiction. He demands that Unibet pays all the costs for his therapy, and started a case. However, the court decided that the gamblers demands have no ground. Unibet has done enough to help him with his gambling addiction. According to the court it’s his own responsibility in the end. The man has to pay about 13.000 euros for the legal costs.
Unibet is aware of the disadvantages of gambling. The company takes care of the well-being of the players, but also says that players have responsibilities themselves. They need to play in a responsible way, and should only gamble with what they can afford. This is one of the most important rules in a casino. The gambler who started a case against Unibet obviously wasn’t aware of this rule.
