In many countries gambling is illegal for persons under 21. The Diamond Jo Worth Casino in Northwood forgot this rule and now has to pay a fine of 20.000 dollars. The casino was caught by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission and got this penalty as a result.
Minor on the casino floor
The Iowa casino allowed a minor on the floor, and this is strictly forbidden by the law. Sanctions can be very high, as is shown by the penalty of 20.000 dollars. In november 2016 a young man entered the casino without having to show his identity. He was there for about 30 minutes and even played casino games. The Diamond Jo Worth Casino doesn’t want this to happen again. According to the Vice President of the Casino every employee was trained again. The casino also asks the ID of every person under the age of 35.
The casino apologizes for the incident as well. However, it’s not the first time they were caught. In 2007 they also paid a fine of 20.000 dollars when another person under the age of 21 entered the casino and gambled over there for a while.
